Nice walk. Came in via Blue Lake along a woods road and bushwacked the final .2 mile.
Found the summit easily enough, but we scoured the area for nearly an hour looking for Black Rock and the much talked about view, but were unsuccessful. That was a bit disappointing. Loved all the huge boulders and erratics in the area
I've climbed Windbeam numerous times. This one was with the NY/NJ Trail Conference trail crew. We were chainsawing blowdowns along the Stonetown Circular Trail, starting at Board Mountain and finishing at the base of Windbeam. Photos came from a hike on Windbeam several days earlier.
My wife Natalie and I led a Meetup.com hike over Beech and returning via Jennings Hollow. We started on Greenwood Lake Turnpike near the intersection with East Shore Rd.
