I parked in the parking lot next to the railroad tracks just off of Rt. 23. I, then, walked down charlottesburg road, made a left on old Rt. 23 and then a right on Winnebago Rd, which was blocked to vehicles by a gate and lots of no trespassing signs. The road quickly crosses a brige over the Pequannock River. Right before a view of the reservoir dam, I took a woods road/trail on the left. There seemed to be numerous unmarked trials in this area and I tried to remain on an upward path. When the trail reached a point in between two rocky hills, I tried to bushwack my way to what appeared to be the summit. After considerable effort and not being sure that I had reached the summit, I returned to the trail and continued walking. The trail descended slightly and then wrapped around the other side of the summit and basically took me right to the summit area, which had numerous pitch pines and decent views.
