Wyanokie Torne

Wasn’t expecting over a foot of snow. But, that’s what I found in sections of the trail. Ran into a few other people out there. Great day to be out in the woods. Did the red/blue loop from Otter Hole Rd. Took about 45 min.

Kanouse Mountain

Originally, I had planned to park near the NWCDC on Echo Lake Road but they have no trespassing signs on every tree and “parking by permit” only sings everywhere. I’m not sure what the deal is there. The Highlands Trail goes right through the parking lot there, around the locked gate and past at least a dozen no trespassing signs. Anyway, I parked at the picnic area off of 23 North right after Echo Lake Rd. From there, I just went up as far as I could. There’s an unmarked ATV trail along the ridge which I followed to the summit. Nugget and I built a simple cairn to mark it for those who come after us.
