Parked at the second parking lot on Glenwild Ave. Heading over to the trail head. Made a right to follow the blue blazes up to Torne. The snow was packed down/icy in areas, so microspikes would have been perfect. My 10pt crampons were a bit of an overkill.
Took in the view of buck mountain from the trail. Continued over to the stone living room and stopped for a quick break. Continued further following the blue trail. Caught a glimpse of NYC in the distance, and decided it was time to head out.
A bunch of youngster were hanging out at the living room on my return back through the blue trail. I even ran into a few of them on the descent down. The said I was smart for wearing crampons. ;)

Raced out to Kanouse right after work. Started climbing rocks, turned back down. The briars were ridiculous. Thought I would run out of time (sunlight) to climb to summit via the route I started.
Attempted a second climb paralleling closer to Route 23 (same trip). Climbed up to a wonderful lookout just below the Summit.
Looked up towards the Summit, and realized it was better to save it for another day. Such is life.
The sunset was amazing.
Definitely a nice stroll right before sunset.
Will provide better description soon.
