Whitehall Hill's most notable feature is its imposing cliffs overlooking Route 206.
Whitehall Hill is a patchwork of private and public property. Fortunately, the summit area is on public land, but getting to the summit requires some sidehilling to avoid trespassing.
Parked at a pull off on North Shore Rd. I took the Sussex Branch Trail and made a left on the green trail. I took this until I got past the posted signs and began bushwhacking up to the high point. I made it to the view without crossing any sign postings and retraced my steps back to the car.
Moderately easy walk up. Sussex Branch Trail from the Park-and-Ride to the Green Trail and bushwhack at a promising site. I must have been far enough west on the Green Trail that I didn't see any No Trespassing signs. Took the same route back - 1 1/2 miles round trip. As usual on a weekday, no one else was out.
