Green Pond Mountain is a long, narrow ridge in Morris County. Parts of the ridge, including the literal highest point, are off-limits in the Picatinny Arsenal and on the lands of the Green Pond private community.
Nonetheless, much of the Green Pond Mountain north of the Picatinny Arsenal is open to the public. The mountain has unmarked trails following the summit, many of which offer splendid, even unobstructed, views of Green Pond.

Hit Green Pond Mountain from Notch Road with Melissa and Stella on Mother's Day 2022.
Since we were up on Mt. Newfoundland, we also hiked the opposite direction to Green Pond Lake (Green Pond Mountain), and the beach looks beautiful this afternoon in the sun.The snow is gone as of today.
Parked at the Four Birds Trail road crossing pull off on 513. Took the trail up to the power line and continued on the trail to an overlook. After the overlook I turned around and took a woods road that continued to the summit. Retraced my steps back to the car.
Parked at 41.03064,-74.46848. Rocky, gravelly trail up at beginning . Cut in to right on trail . Short Bushwhack to second trail and easy walk along top. Cut in to summit coordinates and returned.
