I parked on a small cutout on Mine Hill Road across from a nice house and followed a woods rd. from the cutout
The area was very overgrown and I soon lost the road. I managed to find my way past a couple of fenced in mining sites and to the mining shed referenced by other hikers. From the shed, I followed a woods road that leads to a clearing and a T intersection where I turned left. This road led me right to the power line clearing. I followed a trail left and over the power line highpoint. The trail I was following shifts over to the right side of the power line clearing and soon veered off to the right. This path led to the paved road leading to the communications tower, which I followed to the top. I tried to return the way that I came , but it was extremely difficult. Very overgrown.
Parked on Mine Hill Rd and began ascent up old road grade. This time I stayed towards the south of the old road grade, and avoided any posted signs. Took roads along the saddle of the ridge, and made an easy approach to the summit. I saw the posted signs that I got caught on durin g my last attempt. Staying to the south will help avoid the private property on this approach.
