William Maurer (Hoosier)'s Ascent of Hamburg Mountain High Point (1495 feet)
Trip Report: After parking in a large parking area along Sand Pond road on the right side of the road just before a gate blocking the road at private property. I headed into the woods dropping down over ledges and crossing the outlet stream of Lake Wildwood skirting private property to the east. After approx. .25 miles I intercepted a woods road which I followed for a few hundred feet before taking a second easterly bearing thru open rocky woods to the shoulder of a 1400 high bump, where I took a more northeasterly bearing for a straight shot to the summit of Hamburg Mountain High Point. Hit the summit approx. 350 feet south of the large carin which marks the high point. Followed reverse bearings from those used on the way in back to my car.
